Vicoprofen is a brand name of a Hydrocodone bitartrate and Ibuprofen formulation containing 7.5 mg hydrocodone and 200 mg ibuprofen per tablet.
It is indicated for management of short-term acute pain. The recommended dose of Vicoprofen is one tablet every 4 to 6 hours as required, for up to 10 days. Dosage should not exceed 5 tablets in a 24-hour period. The lowest effective dose or longest dose interval should be sought for each patient.
Vicoprofen is contraindicated in people who have previously demonstrated hypersensitivity to ibuprofen or hydrocodone. It is also contraindicated in people who have experienced asthma, uticaria or allergic type reactions after taking aspirin or other Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs).
Vicoprofen is manufactured by Knoll Pharmaceuticals.
